Mission Statement

Our Purpose at GABLE Firearms Training is to provide basic training to qualified individuals in the proper use of firearms and ways to keep you safe in today’s world.

Goals

It has often been said that you will never get rich training people how to use guns, your best hope is to somehow break even. We do this because we believe in what we are doing. As you will see below our primary instructor is a disabled Veteran. Even though he was seriously hurt defending our way of life he still feels he can contribute to society using his wealth of knowledge as a firearms instructor. He just believes in the importance and responsibility of firearm ownership. His goal here is to get you the proper instruction, not to get rich.
Because our instructor is a disabled person there is the chance were an occasion may arise where his health does not allow him to instruct a class. If this were to happen he has a cadre of fellow instructors who are just as dedicated as he is and will step in to help with the class. This is true for virtually all NRA instructors, if one needs help there are a few thousand who will gladly step in and help. And because it is NRA you know you will get the same information from one instructor as you would from another.

Primary Instructor

The primary instructor for all training is Jerry Nordby.

I am retired from the United States Air Force (U.S.A.F.) where I was an Instructor Navigator and Communication/ Computer Integration Specialist. I am a Disabled Veteran due to a landing accident in the U.S.A.F. After being medically retired I went to work leading Software Development projects for the Space Shuttle and Space Station.

After 12 years of working at NASA my injury’s caused my health to decline to the point where I was no longer able to hold down a full time job. Since that time I sought to find a way where I could do something to contribute to society at large.

I grew up in a time and place where guns were still a part of what was passed from generation to generation. A long line of both purposeful and accidental events led me to the world of firearm instruction. Having spent several years as an instructor in the U.S.A.F I knew how to teach, but what I discovered in myself was a real passion to do what I could to support those freedoms our forefathers fought and died to give to us. I also discovered that this was something I could do (with a few adaptations) given my limited physical abilities.

I also participate in several shooting sports and I am a range official for the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA)
